Ryla to hire 1,400 temp workers for census
Kennesaw-based Ryla, one of Georgia’s biggest call centers, is hiring 1,400 temporary workers to help with the 2010 Census.
The company is looking for customer service agents to work from April through August. The jobs will pay roughly $12-$15 an hour, according to Ryla.
The jobs will be based at Ryla’s Kennesaw location. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
“Ryla’s temporary call center agent positions available for the 2010 Census are excellent for . . . veterans and candidates looking to broaden and strengthen their customer service experiences,” Ryla CEO and co-founder Mark Wilson said in a statement.
All applicants must pass a background check. Applicants must be fluent in English. Fluency in other languages, including Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, Russian and Mandarin Chinese also is needed.
Ryla will serve as a subcontractor to IBM partner TeleTech for the 2010 Census program, which begins April 1.
Data collected will be used to apportion U.S. House of Representatives seats in each state and to distribute more than $400 billion annually in federal funds.
