Comcast Releases Public Service Announcements

Comcast Corp. and other four other cable companies will be providing public-service announcements urging people to participate in the 2010 U.S. Census.

The "Make a Difference" campaign is being launched today and will run through March 15. A second spot will run March 15 to April 15.

Actress Eva Longoria-Parker appears in the spots (check them out here).

Comcast said the campaign would see cable providers contributing $3.5 million in resources.

The other participating cable companies are Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Charter Communications and Bresnan Communications.

In addition, Comcast is providing On Demand tutorial videos in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Russian, and Vietnamese, languages that the company said make up 97.4 percent of the U.S. population.    - Roslyn Rudolph
