City announces first winners in census contest

Three Mt. Pleasant residents are the first winners in a contest to encourage residents to fill out their 2010 Census.

The names of Danielle Brown, Lane Demas, and Patricia Spence were drawn to win prizes of $500, $250, and $250, respectively. The drawing was Friday morning after collecting entries over three days in front of City Hall.

The drawing was open to Mt. Pleasant residents who had filled out their 2010 Census questionnaire.

The second giveaway will be at CMU's Bovee University Center from Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tables will be set up on the front lawn of the Bovee University Center. People can drop off their census form to the nearby mailbox and receive their giveaway slip and free snacks.
